Yeah, so I’ve been a little lazy with the blog…. what did you expect? I was going to post more pics from last Thursday’s photoshoot on the weekend, that didn’t happen. I ended up going downtown to shoot some photos with a couple friends, Jeremy and Karl. We ended up walking into an old bookstore so I could shoot some photos, it was a great little place (the name escapes me). Shelves stuffed with books with the overflow stacked on the floor, exactly the environment I was looking for. I now present you with my favorite photo from Sunday….
I was trying to go for a look that would cause people to think of Harry Potter, I showed the photo to another one of my friends the other day and he told me it reminded him of Harry Potter… WIN!
Chris and I went out last night to shoot the lunar eclipse, Jerah tagged along. Unfortunately for us the sky was filled with clouds, only allowing us to capture the moon when breaks in the clouds passed by it. I might post one of the shots tonight, unless I don’t.
On a side note, I’ve been designing a new layout for my webpage. I’m going for some kind of royal look mixed with a Gothic look, something that will remind people of Castlevania. We’ll see how it goes once I get past the CSS issues I’ve been having. (My website needs an overhaul, it doesn’t look right in IE 6… thanks IE)

Here is one of the shots from Valentines Day… how romantic.
I’d stay and chat, but I’m busy post-processing some photos I took today.

Just letting you know that I had another photoshoot last night and will start post-processing the photos tonight. I’ll try and post at least one shot tonight followed by a few more in the next couple days.
p.s. Gasmasks are awesome!

This weekend was a pretty decent weekend as far as photography goes, I managed to get out of the house a couple times to shoot some photos. The first was on Saturday night, I figured it would be a good idea to take my camera to the store with me “just incase”. I managed to snap off a few while on my journey. This is my favorite shot from Saturday:
A friend of mine, Derek Kehler, was playing a show on Granville Island. After going out for dinner with my friends Chris and Jerah we made our way down to watch Derek’s show. Chris and I took our cameras in hopes of taking some urban shots after the show. Unfortunately I didn’t take any urban shots that night, but that doesn’t mean I didn’t shoot anything. I tried taking some pics at the concert but the lighting was WAY to dim to be able to capture anything nice…. lucky for me I brought my own! I don’t leave home with my camera without my speedlites. The photos turned out nice and I’ll be sure to post some here once I talk to Derek and make sure hes cool with me posting his image on the internets.
On a similar note: There are a couple models that are interested in working with me in the near future. This is pretty exciting for me considering I usually have to bug my friends to come over to let me take some pics. I’m trying to think of some concepts and techniques I’d like to try out with them… Its going to be nice to be able to do another planned shoot, I just need to find a good location… any suggestions?

I was going to post this earlier today but I’ve been home sick all day. Last night I threw together my first HDR image using the photos I took on Sunday.
Yep, Thats it. An HDR image of the Vancouver cityscape. Click on the image and you can find a 1920×1200 wallpaper.
Thats all I have to say for now, I’m off to bed.
